Barbara "Gee" F. Bourgeois

Barbara Fontana Bourgeois, of Metairie, LA, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 23, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born October 2, 1943, to the late Sebastian Fontana and Mamie Marquez Fontana. Devoted wife of Thomas R. Bourgeois for 62 years, loving mother of Harold T. Bourgeois and beloved grandmother of Brandi Lynn Bourgeois.

Gee, as she was affectionately known, had a love for fishing, camping, cooking, baking and gardening. She was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School and was a retired receptionist for Reinhart Food Service, formerly Conco Food Service. Along with her husband, son and granddaughter, she is survived by her brother Sebastian Daryl Fontana (Cynthia), brother-in-law, Paul Bourgeois (Sonia), nieces Monet Chesness and Maggie Bourgeois, nephew, Cory Bourgeois and former daughter in law, Jacinda Glueck. A special thanks to Deanna Daigle who was by her side during every doctor’s appointment and treatment.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday April 9, 2025 from 10:30 – 12:30 with a mass to follow at Our Lady of Divine Providence Church, 8617 W. Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA.
