Babbette Therese Delafont, born on April 26, 1963, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away March 12, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. A proud graduate of East Jefferson High School, Class of 1980, Babbette was sunshine in human form—a light that brightened every room she entered and a presence that lifted spirits even in the most trying times.
She was the heart of every gathering, the fun and the laughter that brought people together. With an open heart and an infectious optimism, Babbette embraced life with warmth and sincerity, making those around her feel seen, valued, and deeply cared for. She was not just a mother but a guiding light, a true friend, and a source of endless love.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Bridgette Delafont; Bridgette's father Timothy Fenske; her sisters, Angela Delafont and Candace Delafont; her brother, Bobby Johnson and her uncle Gerald Lott. She now rests in peace alongside her mother, Pauline Delafont, whose love shaped the remarkable woman she became.
Babbette’s legacy is one of joy, kindness, and unwavering love. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of her life will be held April 26 2025, at the 22nd st Bar in Metairie at 1pm where family and friends will gather to honor the beautiful soul she was.
May her laughter echo in our memories, her kindness guide our hearts, and her love remain with us always.
