Armand Joseph Casanovas

Armand Joseph Casanovas passed away at the age of 76 on Friday, January 20, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Armand was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Beloved husband of Ellen O’Neill Casanovas, and loving father and step-father of Barbara Castellano (Brad), James Wine (Tracey), Amber Casanovas, and Russell Casanovas. Grandfather of Corey Wine, Sarah Wine, Zachary Wine, Madison Wine, Jonathan Casanovas, and Isabella Casanovas. Son of the late Henry Casanovas and the late Mary Lavin Casanovas. Brother of Donald Casanovas (the late Dora), Cleveland Casanovas (Adele), Walter Casanovas, Joyce Risbourg (the late Jules), Mary Risbourg (Ted), the late Leonce Casanovas (the late Pearl), and the late Thelma Imhoff. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as four sisters-in-law and their families. Armand was a U.S. Army veteran, and worked for the telephone company for thirty-six years before he retired in 1997. Adventurous and artistic, Armand spent much of his time outdoors looking for any exciting new journey that may await him. He was an avid Birder, but above all else, a true family man. Armand’s best moments were at family gatherings where he could have a good time with the people he cherished most. To honor Armand’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Armand’s honor.
