Ann Louise Nolan

She was born in Naples, Italy to Mariann Wigle Burns and John Melvin Nolan on March 14, 1965, joining sister Dianne Nolan and brother Scott Nolan. Being a Navy family, they moved to a few different locations around the world, eventually settling in Luling, Louisiana. Ann grew up in a loud, loving home, and decided to direct her compassion into a career of caring for others, enrolling as a nursing student at East Jefferson Vo-Tech, graduating in the summer of 1989. She would remain an exceptional nurse for thirty seven years, providing comfort, laughter, and care to her patients, even saving the life of a young woman named Marie. She could talk to anyone from any walk of life, and make them feel like family.

Ann lived down the street from her grandparents for almost her entire life and was very close to her grandfather Norman 'Old Man Wiggle' Wigle, a well known photographer in the River Parishes, and her elegant grandmother, Ann Wigle. She became an aunt to nephew Scott Nolan, nieces Racine Landry & Davlyn Nolan in quick succession, and finally, Autum Landry, in 1994. She was everything you would ever need or want an aunt to be.

Ann was very involved in the care of her elder family members, and ensured that their final years were full of love and comfort. She settled in Kenner and began a fifteen year career as a medication adherence LPN at People's Health, where she helped many members like her grandparents get the care that they needed. She was a much loved and celebrated member of the People's Health team.

She became a great-aunt on July 18th, 2014, when Riley James Savoie entered the world, the son of niece Autum Landry. Riley and 'Nana' enjoyed a very special relationship. Her pride in him and in her family was one of her favorite subjects. Ann enjoyed and nurtured many close friendships over the years, and was a sunny, warm, and kind soul, laughed loud and often, and always picked up the phone when you called, unfailingly standing by your side through the good, the bad, and everything in between.

She was an incredible daughter, sister, aunt, colleague, and friend. Ann will be missed and loved for all time. She left the world surrounded by the love she taught us how to give.

Ann is survived by sister Dianne Landry, nieces Racine & Autum Landry, great nephew Riley Savoie, and many loving friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 1, 2026 at 2:00 pm, New Life Community Church, 134 Lakewood Drive, Luling, LA 70070.
