Alexis "Alex" Justin Chabert

Alex Chabert entered into eternal peaceful rest on April 23rd 2025 at the age of 91, born in Cut Off, Louisiana and a resident of Westwego, Louisiana. Loving father of Yolanda Chabert-Hager (Dennis) and Alex Chabert Jr. Loving grandfather of Brittney Chabert, Bridget Hager and Dillon Chabert. Also a loving great-grandfather to Tatum Hager, Camila and Luca LeDesma and Lilliana Aughey. Beloved son of the late Alexis Chabert and Pauline Pitre Chabert. Brother of the late Woodrow,Thomas and Hennely Chabert. Brother of Eva Legendre (Earl) Doris Robichaux (Elmo) Felix Chabert (Donna.) He was also loved by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Alex worked for Western & Southern Life Insurance Co. until he retired in 2001. He also worked later for Security Plan Insurance until retiring in 2021. Alex also was an auxiliary police officer for Westwego in his earlier years on his spare time. He was in the Army infantry and served in the Korean War.

First and foremost Alex was a man of God who always kept his faith. He attended his church until he could not anymore. Alex enjoyed hunting,fishing and anything that involved being outdoors. He was always the jokester when around family and friends. He loved his family and he would express that until his last day. For anyone that knew him he would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need.
