Alberto Tomé passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in his New Orleans home at the age of 98, accompanied by several of his children and grandchildren. Alberto Tomé had enjoyed 67 ½ years of Holy Matrimony alongside his beloved wife Liana Tomé. He is survived by his children Alba Lillian Labrano, Jorge Alberto Tomé, Gustavo Adolfo Tomé, Liana Maria Tomé, Lina Tomé Salgado, Yolanda Guadalupe Deitch, and Carlos Enrique Tomé. Grandfather of Ronald Labrano, Yolanda Ladner, Silvio DaSilva, Roy Salgado, Carlos Ayestas, Maritza Heuay, Alberto Salgado, Michael Tomé, Carlos Tomé, Anthony Smith, Jennifer Vance, Jorge Tomé, Alda Tomé, Charles Tomé, Doralina Deitch, and Liana Johnson. Great grandfather of Nicholas Labrano, Jacob Labrano, Christian Ladner, Nichole Ladner, Brennen DaSilva, Silvia DaSilva, Silas DaSilva, Stone DaSilva, Mikelle Wilsey, Michael Wilsey, Adrian Ayestas, Sophia Ayestas, Alex Heuay, Maximiliano Heuay, Jesenia Johnson, and Remington Salgado as well as dozens of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Liana Tomé, his mother Elena Diaz Montoya, his brother José Ernesto Tomé, and his great-grandson Henry Schwank. Mr. Alberto Tomé was born in Marcala, Honduras and graduated with a degree in accounting in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. He worked in his profession for the United Fruit Company in Progreso and La Lima, Honduras from 1945 - 1965. He moved to New Orleans in 1965 with his wife and children and worked at Grossman Millinery Company for nearly twenty years until his retirement. He remained in New Orleans surrounded by his family and was proud to be celebrating what would have been 70 years of Holy Matrimony to his beloved Liana Tomé on December 12, 2017. He lived life well, is truly loved and will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 411 N. Rampart St., New Orleans, LA 70112, on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 am. Visitation in Church from 10:00 am until service time.
