Skyler Stephen Allen Latham passed away on August 18, 2018 after battling liver failure. He fought to the end but eventually his body gave in. He was born to Marsha L. Latham (Kline) of Kankakee, IL and Dale A. Latham of Kansas City, MO on November 7, 1984 in Kansas City, MO. He grew up in Johnson County, KS until he moved to Grandview, MO in the last several years.
Skyler was a people person with his easy going personality. He got along with everyone and if you were his friend, you were also family and Skyler loved his family with his whole heart. He’d do anything for you, always willing to lend a hand. Skyler loved kids and they loved him right back. He was uncle Skyler to almost all of his friends children. He loved to wrestle around and play with them. He was especially fond of his nephew Kayden and his fiancé’s children, Tiger, Colt, and Caitlyn. Skyler also had a love for animals, dogs, cats, horses. Growing up, he would “find” stray animals to bring home. Last year, he adopted his beloved dog, Jagger.
Skyler had a gift of conversation, he could spin a tale a mile long and make you believe every word of it. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, canoeing, skiiing, and disc golf. You name it, if it had to do with the outdoors he was there and a part of it. He had a love for soccer as he grew up playing on a premier team that would travel to tournaments around the Midwest. As he got older, he played for his high school team, Blue Valley West and continued to play recreationally after he graduated. Skyler also had a love for bowling. He played in many different leagues around the area and always bragged about his skills. Skyler was competitive and stubborn which made him put everything he had into everything he did.
Skyler is survived by his father, Dale, fiancé, Tisha Roberts, brothers, Sean and Cassidy, sister, Vicki Hugo, nephews, Kody and Kayden, and niece, Keanna Hudson (Hugo). Preceded by his mother, Marsha, brother, Kienan, and niece, Kaydee Hugo
