Shirley A Ford (Covey) Age 82, passed away Dec. 28th, 2017. She was surrounded by her two sons, Ashley and Jeffrey, her daughter Sally, her son in law Robert, and daughter in law Jamie, as she drew her last breath. Her husband, William H. Ford preceeded her in death in May 2011. She is survived by her children, Daughter Sally, Sons Ashley and Jeffrey as well as her brother Dale Covey. She also had a large extended family who survives her too numerous to mention. Shirley was born in Kansas City, Mo. to William Covey and Ruth Covey where she lived most of her life. Shirley spent her life caring for her family as a devoted wife and mother. Her life was spent making our house a home. She was the kind of mother that everyone wishes they had. She was the kind of mother that made everything better just by giving you a kiss and telling you everything would be fine. Shirley was a Christian, and was a member of Antioch Bible Baptist Church in Gladstone Mo. If there is any mother who loved her children more than her you would have to search the world over. Her life was her family and she made her love known to us. If you were lucky enough to meet her, she would make sure you felt at home around her. She always had a smile and a friendly way about her. If any mother made Christ's love known by her servitude to her family it was her. Our hearts are left empty in grief and pain having lost her, but we also have joy in the pain knowing we will see her again through the promise of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This is the only thing that makes it possible for us to go on, knowing she is in the loving arms of him who gave his life for all who would come to him. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Salvation Army and the Kansas City Union Mission.
