Growing up it was always a highlight when we got to visit Auntie Ca & Uncle Bob! He gets all the credit for so affectionately coming up with my longest standing nickname, “The Brat.” I will continue to live up to it in his honor. Uncle Bob was the best storyteller and I loved staying up late listening to the shenanigans he was a part of. His laugh will always be one of my favorite sounds. I am so thankful for all the memories I have dancing with him in the living room, taking rides on the boat and all his delicious meals and his amazing grilling skills. I loved the relationship and bond my husband and Uncle Bob developed. Witnessing them connect over shared hobbies like making sure all the toys were clean and looking fresh to repairing things and overhearing them laugh together always made me smile. Not a day goes by that something doesn’t remind me of him. We love you so much Uncle Bob!

Carol-- we send our love and comfort to you.  We will miss Bob and his always excellent achievements.  We think of the perfection in his car restoration,  the many huge home projects successfully finished,  the great garden ideas,  his beautiful boat-- all done with care and precision!  Your memories and pride in him are in your heart and ours.

It has been a blessing to know Bob and Carol. Although we were miles apart, when we got together it was as if we never were apart.  Bob was always generous always laughing just a fun great guy. He will be missed by many. When we think of Bob it puts a smile on our face. Our love to you Carol.  We will now open this old bottle of champagne and toast Bob on his journey.

Uncle Bob, you will be missed. I always enjoyed our time whether it was at your place for 4th of July or at ours for any number of birthday parties. You always had a big, hearty laugh that made me smile. Deepest sympathies to Aunt Carol.

Carol how we loved Bob. We will miss him so much. We have so many great memories, the houseboats, Colorado (bears, Bob getting the fish hook in his ear) Wisconsin for years and the best one the lake at your house. You and Bob were the best hosts. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  He was a generous guy, fun loving and smart.  I will never forget Bob showing up at the bowling ally to deliver our "team shirts", he was confident that we needed them and we did!  A night out at Eddy V's for Carol's birthday was also memorable.  It was lavish and perfect, he did all things well.  And then there were those dinners while boating on the lake with Captain Bob in charge.  Such great memories!

 Carol my buddy and dear friend I am awed by your strength throughout this hard time. You are amazing and you were Bob's strength when he needed it most.  My heartfelt sympathy  to all.

To paraphrase a famous quote - in your entire life , you can probably count your true friends on one hand.  Bob was one of those friends.  Bob was a trusted friend for discussing life's challenges and offering sage advice.   He possessed the rare ability to use humor and storytelling to lift your spirits.   Bob and I shared many happy and wonderful experiences while working at Niehoff Automotive and MBL Corporation.   I will always remember Bob and consider his friendship as a true blessing.

Bob, or " Griesey " as he was affectionately known by his close friends will be greatly missed. He was a great and loyal friend dating back to the 70s sharing many adventures during his Niehoff days. Carol, prayers are with you during this difficult time. 

We feel blessed to have had Bob in our lives and to call him our friend.  He was the kind of friend you could always count on to help no matter what the problem.  We will always remember the times we all spent together....the happy hours with Bob making his famous lemon drop martinis, the boat rides on the lake, dinners out together and, most of all, our trip to South Africa.  While we were on safari looking for big game, Bob was also in search of someone in South Africa who know how to make a manhattan.  Thanks to Bob's efforts there are now several safari camps whose bar tenders can now make a mean manhattan.

Bob was my “rebel” first cousin, or at least I thought so!! Six years older then me, I thought he was awesome! Bobby bought a brand new Impala convertible, light aqua with a white top. A week or two after he got it he went to the Lake with friends! It came back home on O’Fallon Garage’s flat bed truck!! Everyone but the car were ok! Can still see my Dad and uncles next to the truck shaking their heads❣️Most of them are in Heaven now with Bob🙏🏻

Thank you so much for always being  such a wonderful host when sisters and cousins would come to visit! Even though you were outnumbered 7-1, you would put up with our antics and laugh! Thank you Bob you will be missed❤️ Carol our sympathy and love goes out to you😘 Gary and Lou Ann

Bob, Bob, Bob.....
I will really miss spending time with you, especially at the Hotel Griesenauer! You were always up for a good story and to share a cocktail or two. Thanks for trying to teach me to dance at Carol's birthday party. You really threw  a great party! Although we had a few disagreements along the years, we always had respect  for each other. I felt privileged to spend your final days watching cooking shows and holding your hand. You will forever be in my heart.
