Richard was preceded in death by parents, Martin and Jennie Kaminski (Albion, NY), wife, Sylvia Kaminski and brother-in-law, John Boyer.
He is survived by children, Christine Ream, Steven Kaminski and Vicki Howe (Johnnie Howe); sister, Rosemary Boyer; 7 grandchildren, Kevin Ream, Michael Conseco, Jacob McClellen, Taylor McClellen (Daniel), Levi Howe (Stormi), Lucase Howe, and Emily Francis; and 4 great grandchildren, Melanie, Payton, Colt & Remi. He is also survived by stepdaughters, Valerie Hale (Lee Hale) and Brenda Francis (Rick Francis); and by his first wife, Julie Callahan.
Richard served in the Air Force with his 4 years being at Richard’s Gebauer AFB, Grandview, MO. He chose to remain in the Kansas City area receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Rockhurst College and enjoying a career in computers.
Richard enjoyed bowling, square dancing, artistic painting, wood carving, Chiefs football and Royals baseball. After retirement he spent his free time as a School Crossing Guard in Johnson County, Kansas.
Richard was a member of Colonial Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, KS and Kansas City, MO.
A memorial service will be held at Colonial Presbyterian Church - South Kansas City Campus on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with visitation from 1 to 2 pm and service to immediately follow officiated by Pastor Mark Potter.
