Raymond Theodore Stewart

peacefully on September 11, 2024. Born in Kansas City, MO to Theodore William Stewart and Thelma Loyette Stewart (Herman) in November of 1946, he lived a life marked by dedication, love, and steadfast support for his family.

Raymond proudly served in the Army, it was during his service in South Korea that he met and married his wife of over 50 years, Kyong Nam Stewart. Their partnership was a testament to their bond and shared values around family. He would tell his kids ‘If you can get along with your mother, you can get along with anyone’.

Ray (or Ted depending on the day) and Kyong were blessed with four children; Janice, Jennifer, Chris and Catherine, who were his pride and joy (most of the time). He took pride in his role as a father and cherished every moment spent with family. His life was a tapestry of hard work, love, and an unyielding commitment to those he cared about. Our dad never met a crossword he couldn’t solve, even the hard ones. He was an avid reader of books, quick witted and told the worst “Dad” jokes that we will miss hearing. He shared his wisdom on how to view life from multiple perspectives, with an open mind and a sense of humor.

Raymond is survived by his brother Eugene (Rusty), children, grandchildren; Victoria, Gonzalo, plus one on the way and great grandson; Adam. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

No memorial service will be held at Ray's request, please toast his memory at your next gathering. The family will meet in the spring to scatter his ashes at a special place from his childhood while playing songs from the Eagles.

Raymond Theodore Stewart’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, a cherished man whose love, commitment, and compassion will never be forgotten.
