Norman Albert Trigg, 88, of Gladstone MO, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Norman was born in Canton, IL to Albert and Martha (Williams) Trigg on February 6, 1928. He was raised in Cross Timbers, MO where he attended Owsley School, a one room log cabin. When he was 12 he moved with his mom to Kansas City, MO where she worked at Harvey's Restaurant in Union Station a a Harvey Girl, and he would spend his days exploring Union Station and the City of Kansas City. He graduated from Westport High School in 1946. He was one of the fastest guys on the track team, setting several records, Norman honored his county by serving in the Korean War from 1951-1952. In 1953, he met and married Joan Smiddy, together they raised their family. In 1958 they moved into their home in Gladstone where they lived for 58 years. The neighbors were more than friends, they were family, and the neighborhood become known as the Woodland Avenue Gang sharing many adventures. He retired from Farmland Industries where he worked as an offset printer. He enjoyed being retired-especially when he could be "Dad's Taxi Service"-running errands for his kids and grandkids, and even teaching a couple of the grandkids how to drive. He loved working in the yard and had beautiful rose bushes. He also worked part time at Earl May in Gladstone, was a member of the Northland Elks, and was very active with the American Legion and Gladstone VFW where he was part of the Military Honor Guard, something that he took great pride in. He is survived by his wife of over 63 years Joan; his children Christina (Michael D.), Mike (Margaret), Barbie (Jon), and Jo Lynn (Steve); his Grandchildren Samantha (Ken), Dan, Rich, Nina (Austin), Carey (Michael), Travis (Lindsey), Zachary (Brooke), and Elizabeth; and his Great Grandchildren, Gage, Lilly, Sophie, Ryan, Kloey, Brynn, Brooklyn, and Ella.
