Bub, as he was known to his family and friends, was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo., the city he loved and lived in his entire life. As a young man Bub and his father owned and operated the immensely popular Bowman's Restaurant and Bar. Following the Closing of the restaurant, Bub had several different jobs while raising his family. Bub started his own business at age 59, Clean Quest Dish Machines, which was his passion and joy. He was active in business until the past year. Bub also had the unusual honor having served in the Navy, the Army and the Air Force in World War II and the Korean War. Bub and Edwina Gatto were married for 59 years and had four children. Bub was preceded in death by his wife Edwina in 2011. He is survived by his children Debra (Randy) Arp of Morrison, CO; Mark (Kristine) Bowman of Anchorage, AK; Tammy (Rick) Goede of Kansas City and Shelley (Bryan) Riggs of Lenexa, KS; 11 grandchildren, one great grandchild and another due to arrive in May 2017. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, at Christ the King Catholic Church at 85th and Wornall, Kansas City, Mo. Visitation from 9-10 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m. at the church.
