Michael H Campbell

Michael Harold Campbell, 71, of Kansas City, MO died February 28, 2017. Mike was born on April 19th, in 1945 at St. Mary’s Hospital to Harold and Angelina Despot Campbell. A Navy Veteran of 22 years, he was involved in the total membership for P.O.W. cause and a lifetime member of VFW along with various other military organization. Mike was the life of the party, joking and just being himself. He enjoyed fishing and going to his vacation home in Aransas Pas, Texas and the lake in lake in Warsaw, MO. He was loving and compassionate with a great sense of humor, though he was also determined to get what he wanted! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Danny Campbell and Gary McCall. Mike leaves behind three sisters, Bonnie Holding; Beverly Whitten, and Connie Frank of Kansas City; Nephew/God Son, Mike Whitten of Holt, MO along with longtime companion Pat Overkamp of Montgomery City, MO; her children Dianna and Mark Weber of Dallas, TX, and Matt and Tammy Overkamp of Fulton, MO with their daughters Taylor and Lyndsey and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1 PM at the VFW Post 5606, 5401 N.E. Oak Ridge Drive, Kansas City, MO. Family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the American Red Cross for Veterans and Military.
