Mary Ellen Fielden

Mary Ellen went to St. Rose Grade School, and Bishop Ward High School where she formed many life-long friendships. Mary Ellen later attended Junior College. She was a long-time member of St. Patrick Parish, Kansas City KS.

Mary Ellen was an avid golfer. She could be found on the links at Lake Quivira and Dubs Dread golf courses. She loved the challenge, the fresh air and exercise, and the opportunity to meet pro golfers.

Ellie played in mother-daughter and women’s golf tournaments and made it to the amateur circuit. She enjoyed time on the course with her brother Jack and her parents, and later in life with friends who were new to the game.

Golf took a back seat to Mary Ellen's chosen vocation as mother to four children: Lorie Schafer (Steve), Lisa Fielden, Tom Fielden (Nell), and Chris Fielden. She was blessed with five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was always in the audience for basketball, football and softball games, campfire girls, boy scout events and every school program for her children.

Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her husband Tom (2013), her son Chris (2025), and brother Jack (2012). Special thanks to the staff at Delmar Gardens for the care they provided. Thanks to the lay ministers from Holy Spirit Church for their frequent visits.

Funeral services will be held May 22 at St. Patrick Church, 1086 N. 94th Street, Kansas City KS.

Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to St. Patrick Church, or an organization of choice.
