It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kimberly Belle Wilson on April 10, 2025, at the age of 66. Kim was born to Richard DeWayne and Margie Lou Hobbs on July 25, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised in Ottumwa, Iowa alongside her siblings Dawn and Jon Hobbs. Though her twin brothers, Kevin Eugene and William DeWayne, passed before birth, they were deeply loved and remembered.
Kim later made her home in Kansas City, Missouri, where she built a life filled with family, love, and creativity. She is survived by her husband Steven John Wilson; her children Kelly Jean Waters and Kurtis Wayne Waters; and her grandsons, Seth Marriott, Shea Hudelson, and Wyatt Waters.
A talented and passionate beautician, Kim graduated from Ottumwa Beauty School and went on to own and operate Avondale Beauty Salon in Kansas City. She later continued her career at Fantastic Sams, where she worked for more than two decades, earning the loyalty of clients and colleagues alike.
Beyond her professional life, Kim was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and artist. Her faith in Christ and her fierce love for her family were guiding forces in her life.
Kim will be remembered for her strength, her compassion, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
