Johnita Dorshell King-Lora

On April 6th, 1977 she was united in marriage to Felix M. Lora Sr. at the Jack Reardon Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was welcomed with open arms by the children and grandchildren of her husband.

Johnita was an exceptional human being! Not having any children of her own she cared for an abundance of children while working as the Director of Education. She was a graduate of Turner High School and went on to Kansas City Kansas Community College. She was a dietary aid for hospital and nursing facilities before becoming the Director of the Upper Room Program under the leadership of Father Don Foreman of St. Peter’s Church.

She was very talented as a seamstress along with being an exceptional art instructor. Johnita was known for being outspoken and letting those around her know how she felt, but yet she was a gentle soul. “Wonder Woman” is how Felix referred to her.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Ernest and Carol King.

Johnita leaves behind her beloved husband Felix and a host of friends and relatives who will miss her special light.
