Paul passed away at his Overland Park, Kansas residence on June 18, 2019. He was born on March 21, 1963 in Garland, Texas to Ruth (Wafford) and Robert Buscher. The family moved to the greater-Kansas City area and Paul attended Independence High School where he was a football standout. From the time Paul was three or four he loved playing with his toy soldiers and setting his army up for battles. He was very bright and had a passion for history and a deep love of his country which lead he to join the U. S. Army after graduation and successfully completing Ranger training.
During his years of service, he received numerous recognitions including: 2 Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Marksman Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar, and with Pistol Bar. He served in the Army for 16 yeas and was honorably discharged in 1998.
Paul's military career ended as the result of a vehicle accident that resulted in the loss of a leg and an additional accident that caused the loss of the use of his arm. After physical rehabilitation, he became an active member of Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Robert Buscher, and his brother, Larry Buscher. He is survived by his mother, Ruth (Wafford) Martin of Overland Park, Kansas.
