Joann (Jody) Roebuck, born in Mobile, Alabama passed away February 20, 2023, at the age of 75. She fought a long, courageous battle with brain cancer and has moved on to her friends and family on the other side. Growing up Jody learned to play the piano beautifully. She loved playing cards and joking with her family. Playing pranks and planning surprises with her sisters and parents. She carried this gift for humor and fun throughout her life.
Jody lived an amazing life that she loved. She was an adventurer who enjoyed riding motorcycles in her younger years as well as camping, racketball , traveling abroad and exploring. She could talk with anyone and made friends everywhere she went. She was a life long learner, always reading articles and researching things she found of interest.. An intellectual conversationalist who was always game for lively debate!
Jody could out shop anyone and so enjoyed finding perfect antiques for every nook, cranny and wall in her home.…when she was done she would start over! Jody was passionate about teaching students piano and the English language, creating art and home decor, laughing and shopping and playing Skipbo with her daughter Kelly. She inspired a love of nature and the great outdoors in all three of her children.
In 2017 Jody moved to Nixa, Missouri to be closer to her grandchildren who she loved dearly. Jody will be remembered as an excellent conversationalist, a passionate teacher and by the signature sound of her raucous laughter.
