Howard Taylor Westrope, age 77, passed away with his wife by his side, Tue, Oct.24, 2017 at KC Hospice House. Howard was born Jan. 11, 1940 to Chester and Faye (Taylor) Westrope of Kansas City, MO. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City and served in the US Air Force with an honorable discharge in 1961. Howard had several careers including construction, worked and co-owned numerous bars and restaurants in the area and retired from Watts Up Lighting after over 25 years of service. Howard loved to travel with his wife and enjoyed many outdoor activities. Howard was preceded in death by his daughters, Connie Walker and Kim Harrison, sisters, June Brown, Bonnie Whitford and Sharon Hulsey. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ronda Westrope; sons, Kevin Westrope and his partner Jason Holmes, Jeff Westrope, Bret Westrope, Doug Westrope; son-in-law’s, Jim Walker and Charlie Harrison; his lifelong friend Dick Hudson, sister, Carol Carpenter, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Angel Salcedo for his comfort and care of Howard in his last few weeks. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held Sun, Oct, 29, 2017, 2-6 PM at the Pavilion Event Center, 7436 Nieman Road, Shawnee, Kansas 66204.
