

A private family interment service will be held. The family will hold a Celebration of Life service in a few months for family and friends, the date to be determined. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
Harold was born to Raymond Eugene King and Fern Stafford (Wingo) King on November 20, 1947, in Springfield, Missouri. Harold was the second of three brothers, Clyde William King and Raymond Wesley King.
Harold graduated from Central High School in 1965. Upon graduation he started college at Missouri State University (formerly known as Southern Missouri State University).
He met the love of his life, Derinda Rene Mammen, in MYF at Schweitzer United Methodist Church in Springfield, Missouri. He and Derinda were married in Harrison, Arkansas on July 1, 1966 and just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary just prior to his passing.
After Harold and Derinda married they moved to Peoria Illinois where he began working for Caterpillar Tractor Company. Harold went through their Engineering Training Program. This began a 50 year career as a mechanical engineer. Along the way he worked for many companies including Paccar, Dart Truck Company, Beck Fire Apparatus, Ottawa Truck Company, Kalmar Industries and Tico Manufacturing. He traveled all over the world providing his expertise and management for these companies. He and Derinda even moved to Shanghai, China for a time giving them both a unique opportunity and making some life long friends.
Harold was a father to Todd Preston King and Tiffany Nichole (King) Felkner (Gary). He was a grandad to Quinton Michael King (Dylan), Carmen Alexis King, Cameron Todd King and Kaitlyn Alison (King) Shirley (Ryan) and a great-grandad to Cecelia Kathleen King and Nova Rae King.
In addition to his love of family, Harold loved fishing, camping, sailing and traveling.
He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Fern King, son, Todd Preston King and brother, Clyde William King.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Derinda Rene King, daughter, Tiffany Felkner, four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and his brother, Raymond Wesley King (Jody).
