Gerald Richard Edwin Westhoff passed away quietly in his home on April 11, 2016 , after a lengthy battle with ALS. Born in Patterson, New Jersey in 1934, he was married to Ingrid Beissner on April 1, 1956. He and Ingrid celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary 10 days prior to his death. "Jerry" began an extensive flying career in the Air Force and retired from TWA in 1989. He is survived by Ingrid of the home, sons Gerald Jr., Mark, and daughter Denise; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate Gerald's life will be held on Monday, April 18, at 10:00 am at Lee's Summit First, 425 SW Oldham Parkway, Lee's Summit, MO 64081 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the ALS foundation.
