Deborah Sue Cook

Deborah Sue Bruns Cook (Ms. Debbie) passed away in her home the morning of August 19, 2017. She is survived by her husband, Gary; her parents Carl and Shirley Bruns; her sister and brother in law Jan and John Mantovani; her nephew, Ray Figueroa and his children Ava and Noel; and four children through marriage, Chris, Annelise, Jason and Justin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Bruns Jr. Debbie was born in Franklin County, Missouri on November 4, 1953. She lived mostly in the St. Louis Area until she relocated to Kansas City to attend the UMKC Conservatory of Music. After UMKC she became a private piano instructor. She also become the Music Director for the Academy Montessori Internationale in Kansas City. Debbie also enjoyed playing piano and organ for the St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church. She openly shared her love of music and life with each student, family member, and friend she felt privileged to have and know. She was active with each of these activities until she became ill.
