Dave served his country with honor and distinction for 23 years in the Army. Following his military retirement, he transitioned to a successful career in sales before returning to serve once more—as a civilian Federal employee supporting U.S. forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His commitment to the mission and the people he served alongside never wavered.
In retirement, Dave embraced life to the fullest. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in golfing, camping, hiking, hunting, and kayaking. He was also a proud member of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), traveling the country to compete in cowboy action shooting events. Known for his camaraderie and spirit, he especially cherished afternoons spent with friends, enjoying cigars and whiskey.
A devoted family man and lifelong Disney enthusiast, Dave and his beloved wife Mary made countless trips to Walt Disney World with their children and grandchildren, creating treasured memories that will last for generations.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Stroman; his children, David Andrew Stroman (Amy) and Jennifer Stroman; and his cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Reichert (Michael), Elena Dunahee (Trenton), Jamie Leonard, David James Stroman, and Elise Stroman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (https://t2t.org), an organization dear to Dave’s heart, supporting first responders and military families.
A memorial service for family will be held in Upsala, Minnesota at a future date to be determined.
Dave’s life was marked by service, adventure, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
