Daniel Ray Shippy

Daniel Ray Shippy was born March 22, 1949 and passed away February 26, 2025 at Missouri Veterans’ Home in Cameron, MO. He is survived by sons Daniel R. Shippy (Catalina) KS and Greg N. Shippy (Krissy) MO, daughter Staci M. Kelley (Scott) WA, four grandchildren - Jackson Shippy MO, Gavin Kelley WA, Connor Kelley WA, Rowan Kelley WA and sisters Linda D. Driscoll and Brenda K. Shippy of KS. Dan was preceded in death by his parents Daniel L. in 2006 and Pauline E. in 2005.

Dan grew up in Raytown MO, graduated from Raytown High School in 1966 and then attended UMKC. He enlisted in the Army in 1971 serving three years as a Chaplain. He worked at H.D. Lee for many years in sales and later worked for Adidas.

Dan loved spending time with his children, biking and all things sports. He was passionate about playing softball and watching the Chiefs and Royals. He participated in several long-distance bike rides for different charities over the years.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the MO Veterans Home for their care and compassion.

A Memorial Service with military honors to honor Dan’s life will be held at a later date.
