Claire was born on January 14, 1950, in Bromley, Kent, England to Boris Esmond Collingwood and Octabrena Hilda (Silin) Collingwood. She was born a true lover of nature! She had a passion for horses, dogs, cats and any other animal who crossed her path. At the age of just 2 years she was on horseback, dressed up as a little American Indian.
After graduating high school in 1966 she entered the Royal Air Force for 5 years. Claire attended college studying cosmetology for beauty therapy – not hair cutting! She worked in several salons in Exeter, England before opening her own business in Oakhampton, Devon, England. She successfully ran her business for 25 years.
Claire most beloved hobby was Equestrian. Her horse “Golden Braid” (Braidy) took her on many endurance rides of 50-70-100 miles a day. She rode for England in Belgium and came in 3rd! Nothing she enjoyed more than her rides in Dartmoor and other places all over England. She also was the recipient of the prestigious “Golden Horseshoe Award” for the top-placed rider in the 100 Mile Challenge Cup.
Claire is proceeded in death by her beloved mother, Octabrena H. Serra and father, Boris E. Collingwood. She leaves behind her younger sister, Ruthie Branham, brother-in-law, Wally Branham, and the light of her life, Marc R. Branham her nephew to “carry on with life and be happy”. She is and always will be missed by many who loved and knew her. R.I.P Big Sister
