Cheryl Kay Hottle, 84, passed away on April 24, 2025, with family by her side. Cheryl was born on November 17, 1940, to Laverne and Faye Stabenow. She grew up in Warrensburg, MO, and enjoyed sunbathing and water skiing with her family at Lake of the Ozarks. She graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1958. Cheryl attended Central Missouri State University, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and met the love of her life, Vern Hottle.
Vern and Cheryl were married on September 1, 1961. Together, they raised 3 daughters. Cheryl worked in accounts payable for Austin Hardware and Supply for nearly 30 years. Cheryl and Vern were active in the Raytown Jaycees, where they met many lifelong friends. Cheryl was passionate about fashion and loved shopping with her girls. She enjoyed painting, aerobics, theatre, and was an avid Kansas City Royals fan.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Laverne Stabenow and Faye Kimbley, and her stepfather, Jim Kimbley.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Vern Hottle; brother, Phil (Linda) Stabenow; daughters, Lori (Mike) Walker; Lisa (Matt) Mann; Julie Broockerd; cherished grandchildren, Erica (Tony) Wilson; Emily (Maddy) Graham; Dustin Mann; Casey (Nick) Monzyk; Hannah Broockerd; Sophie Broockerd; and adorable great-grandson, Carter Wilson.
