

Chuck was born on May 9th,1949 in Fulton, NY, to Jane and Charles Kirby. He graduated from G. Bodley High School, Fulton, NY June 25th ,1967. He was the president of his senior class. After moving to Kansas City with his family following graduation, he attended UMKC, married Linda Cornelius and raised three boys. He was a dedicated student and teacher of the Bible.
Chuck was employed in various positions in the food service industry for over forty years, both in sales and operations. He served as the Executive Chef for the old Leawood Country Club for 10 years. He earned his C.E.C. in 2001. He retired as a broker-chef for Key Impact Sales and Systems in 2017.
Chuck was passionate fisherman most of his adult life and an avid gardener in retirement with a special love of flowers and birds.
Chuck is survived by his wife Patti; his three sons, Aaron Kirby (Callie), Ryan Kirby (Courtney), and Michael Kirby (Tracy), and four grandsons; Patti’s children, Merritt and Jonathan Orr, and grandson Aidan; his brother, the Rev. Jeff Kirby and his wife, Michelle; his nieces, Jessica, Jillian, Joanna, his nephew, Jeremy Kirby, and their respective spouses and children.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Jane Elizabeth and Charles Kenneth Kirby.
Memorial services will be held at the Church of the Resurrection in Wesley Covent Chapel, Bldg. C, located at 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS, on Saturday, June 25th at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Resurrection Memorial Garden. Attendees are invited to a reception in the Student Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Chuck’s memory to Healing House KC, or to the Giving Garden Ministry through the Church of the Resurrection (links included below).
