Catalina Burrola, 96, passed away peacefully with her granddaughter by her side on December 8, 2021. Born in Amarillo, Texas to parents Wenceslao and Guadalupe Quintero. She was the youngest of eight and the last of the first generation of Quinteros. On April 22, 1946 she married the love of her life, John Burrola. On September 24, 1958 John and Catalina welcomed their daughter, Jeannine Burrola. Shortly after they moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Catalina worked as a marker maker for Youthcraft for 50 years.
Catalina was a great wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great grandmother, and aunt. She was a kind and honest person. She was a woman of faith who loved her entire family. She was so selfless and caring, the greatest example we could ever have. She left us all with amazing memories and hearts filled with love. She is and will be missed immensely every day. She was an angel that was always there and gave the best advice. She was the light of our lives and will shine forever in our hearts. Some of her favorite hobbies were crochet, knitting and painting ceramics. She enjoyed cooking and she loved the Kansas City Chiefs!
Catalina is survived by her daughter Jeannine Saladino, granddaughter, Julie Anthony (Bob), grandson, Phillip Saladino (Alecia), great grandchildren, Ariana, Jake, Madelyn, Marisa, Tyler, Isabell and Emilia, a great great granddaughter, Catalina ( little Cat), and many nieces and nephews who she loved greatly.
Catalina was preceded in death by her husband, John Burrola, a son in law, Phillip V. Saladino, her parents, Wenceslao and Guadalupe Quintero, brothers, Ralph Quintero Sr., and Manuel Quintero, sisters, Maria Ochoa, Magdalena Mora, Livrada Tenorio, Genoveva Martinez and Sofia Malacara, nieces and nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles. The services for Catalina will be held at a later date.
