Carol Louise White

Carol was born on November 25, 1937 in Kansas City, Kansas to Harry and Louise Pauley. She graduated from Wyandotte High School. Carol married her high school sweetheart Bob R. White, on December 28, 1956. They lived over 30 years in the Kansas City area including Kansas City, Merriam and Shawnee, KS. They eventually retired to Ocala, FL where they loved not only the beaches of the sunshine state, but also the horse country of Marion County. They enjoyed a full retirement together, traveling, playing golf and tennis and always gardening. After Bob’s passing in 2016 Carol later returned to Shawnee, KS in October of 2025.

While Carol was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker most of her life, she also worked for Barnett Helzberg, Sr. of the Helzberg’s Diamonds in the warehouse and office. Carol enjoyed retelling the story of her wrapping 90 Christmas presents for Mr. Helzberg to give to family, friends and associates. She was quite the bowmaker. She also worked in a retail garden nursery and was known for her love of landscaping and gardening. Carol, along with her husband Bob were members of the First Baptist Church of Shawnee. She sang in the choir and loved on children in Sunday School for many years. She frequently volunteered for vacation bible school and the couple helped take care of the church landscaping. While in Florida, they were members of College Road Baptist Church and most recently First Baptist Church of Ocala. Carol was most known among friends and family for a continuous smile and very quick wit.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband Bob White, father and mother Harry and Louise Pauley, brothers Leonard and Donald Pauley and sisters Geraldine Baldschun (Pauley) and Barbara Stancoff (Pauley). Carol is survived by sister Shirley Dysart (Pauley), son Jason (Jay) White, his wife Lisa White and 4 grandchildren Caleb, Joshua, Jordan and McKenzie White and 2 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at the home of Jason and Lisa White on July 17th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. 6334 Stevenson St, Shawnee, KS. Please come and share a praise, a story and a laugh. Come and go as you please.
