Carol Sue Pennington

Carol was born on December 20, 1947, in Pine Bluffs, WY. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Robert Pennington. Carol was the daughter of Ralph and Rosemary Reed who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister Gayle Fagan (Greeneville, TN), a loving nephew Justin Fuller and many other loved ones.

Carol is survived by a daughter Sheila (Iowa), son Shaine and his wife Donna (Rayville, Mo), son Cody and wife Tiffany (Kearney, Mo). She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Kirby, Danny, Colton, Madison, Morgan. She is also survived by brother Phil Reed and wife Carrie (Fargo, ND) and brother Olin David Reed (Cheyenne, WY) and several other close family members.

In her younger years she was a very talented barrel racer and adored her horse named Tory. Carol was an extremely hard worker who worked on the family cattle ranch until retirement. She was also a stay-at-home mom and was very active in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. She loved the outdoors and trout fishing in the Mountains of Wyoming. The last couple years of her life, she lived at the Wellington Senior Living facility in Liberty, Mo., (with her dog, Foxy) where she made several friends. Carol did not know a stranger and was dearly loved by so many people.

A visitation will be held Saturday, February 8 at 2:00pm with a service immediately following at 3:30pm at Hidden Valley Funeral home located at 5951 MO-10, Excelsior Springs, Mo 64024. A service will also be held at a later time at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery located at 20109 Bus, MO-13, Higginsville, Mo 64037, where her ashes will be housed together with her husband Robert.
