

Carl Lindsey Crawley Jr., 88, died peacefully on April 16, 2026. Carl was born December 28, 1937, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to Carl Lindsey Crawley Sr. and Lucille Imogene Clark Crawley. Carl was a graduate of Hopkinsville High School. Carl enlisted in the Army in 1958 and served his country overseas in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1962.
Carl was a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a BS in Civil Engineering. Carl moved to Raytown, Missouri with his wife and daughters taking a position as a Civil Engineer with Burns & McDonnell Engineering. He retired after 32 years with the company. He moved to Lee’s Summit, Missouri to be closer to his daughters.
Carl will be remembered as a devoted and caring family man. He was a passionate Chicago Bears and Hopkinsville Tigers fan and showed this through his love of the color orange.
He loved the garden oasis he created on his patio with many bird feeders and several flowering potted plants. Carl enjoyed spending time with family, sharing many memories and talking sports, from Kentucky basketball to professional soccer with his cousins. Carl’s passing leaves a heartfelt void in the lives of those he touched. He will be missed by those who loved him.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and cousins.
Carl is survived by his daughters Karen Crawley Van Meter (Mark), and Lindsey Crawley Williamson (Albert Monteil), cousins Mildred Clark Crick, Dan Belcher, Woody Clark, and Barry Clark. and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 18, at John Knox Village Chapel 520 NW Murray Road Lee’s Summit MO from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a eulogy at 6:45 pm.
A graveside service will be held on June 19, 2026, at 11:00 am at Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
