With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Billy Ray Floyd, a devoted father, proud Marine, and cherished grandfather. He was born in Stafford, Kansas on December 12, 1949, to Earl and Mildred Floyd. He left this world on March 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering loyalty to those he held dear.
A man on honor and duty, Billy Ray served his country bravely as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. His time in service shaped him into a man of resilience, integrity, and unwavering loyalty. That same strength carried into every part of his life—he was the kind of man who would do anything for his family and friends, always putting others before himself. Above all, he was a dedicated father to his beloved son, Stony Joe, and a proud grandfather to his three grandchildren, Camryn, Cole, and Kendyl, and great granddaughter, Brynlee, who were the greatest joys of his life. Whether sharing stories, offering wisdom, or simply spending time together, he made sure they always knew how deeply they were loved.
An outdoorsman at heart, Billy Ray found peace in the woods and on the water. Hunting and fishing weren't just pastimes—they were a way of life, a connection to nature, and a chance to pass down traditions to those he loved. Some of the best memories were made with a rod in hand or a rifle at his side, soaking in the simple joys of the world around him.
Through every moment, in good times and bad, he lived by one simple phrase: "Life is good." No matter what came his way, he embraced each day with gratitude, humor, and an unshakable spirit. His words and his outlook will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
His presence, his laughter, and his boundless love will be missed beyond words. But his legacy of strength, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Billy Ray is survived by his son, Stony (Stacy) Floyd; three grandchildren Camryn, Cole, and Kendyl; one great granddaughter, Brynlee; and sisters Nan Mothes and Shirley Barrett. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mildred Floyd; brothers Beau and Jerry Floyd; and sister Anna Eytcheson.
