Barbara (Bobbie) Barker was born in 1932 in Hamilton, Missouri. She taught English and Drama at Wyandotte High School for nine years. She faithfully carried on the tradition of serving Sunday dinner to the extended family for over thirty years. She became lifelong friends with her sorority sisters in Beta Sigma Phi and hosted a Bible Study with close friends from her church. She and her husband travelled the world together and served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary during their Florida years. She was a caregiver for six different family members. Learning faith from her Grandmother, Barbara fought childhood polio and defied doctors who said she would never walk again. She defied them once more when they gave her three months to live, surviving three years with a rare, incurable form of cancer through a strict dietary regimen, immune system pills and faith in her lord, Jesus. She became an inspiration and won everyone with her smile. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Deborah Lawrence (Robert) and Linda Villanueva (Edward), 3 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Date of Memorial Service is currently pending.
