Anna Mae Stark

Anna was born on April 3, 1930, in Orleans, Indiana to Karrey and Ruth Kaiser. She had 9 brothers and sisters. She left the farming life as soon as she could and became a stewardess for TWA. There she met her husband John J Stark, Jr and they were married for 54 years. John Stark preceded her in death in November of 2008.

They have four children, John Jacob (Amy), Thomas Karrey (Diana), Peter Kaiser (Susan) and Sarah Elizabeth. And six grandchildren: Lindsey, Jacob, Dylan, Kendra, Claire, and Emma. And five great grandchildren Jenaya, Kinsley, Bentley, Avery, and AnnLee. She is survived by her sister Sue who still lives in Indiana.

Anna was an avid traveler and lived in many places but spoke most fondly of her time in Setauket, New York and Punta Gorda, Florida. She had quite an eye for property, antiques and decorating. Anna was a member of the Episcopalian Church in Setauket, New York and Stanley, Kansas for many years and spent countless hours needlepointing for the church.

She loved gardening, horses, hiking and modern art, and literature. Anna spent many summers in the mountains in Colorado and went on numerous walking tours with her sister Joanne.

Anna was an avid Chiefs fan from the beginning and a longtime season ticket holder. She made her children watch the first Super Bowl but missed the Chief’s touchdown as she was getting sodas to keep them quiet. When not attending games, she loved watching them with her children and grandchildren who she raised to be supporters.

She was always glad to meet new friends and made lasting ones wherever she went. She liked including her family in anything she could and tried to arrange frequent family vacations. She loved spending time with her grandchildren playing cards, reading to them, cooking, going to the beach, and of course, watching sports.

Anna will be laid to rest next to her husband John in Orleans, Indiana. There will be a small graveside service. The time is yet to be determined.
