William was born in a time when life was very difficult. He lived with his parent and six siblings in a small house in Nashville. They had no electricity until much later, doing homework by an oil lamp. He was drafted and served in Korea, upon discharge, he married the love of his life, Sarah.
They lived a hardscrabble life for many years and money was tight. Despite this, they would leave Florida on a Saturday morning and drive to Nashville (no interstate) to pick up his three nieces and bring them back to Florida for the summer. He was back at work Monday. This came about in order to give our recently widowed mother some down time.
He learned his trade as a carpenter and worked his way up in his profession. He had the respect of coworkers and bosses as well. He built his house with his own two hands, from blueprint to finish, along with his friends. He was very much a self made man and willing to help anyone in need.
Although he did not have children, he was very much a family man, connecting to the next three generations.
Thank you William for the man you were. You are loved and missed.
