

Troy’s father passed when he was just seven years old. His mother would soon remarry and Troy was sent to boarding school where he made some lifelong friends.
After high school, Troy met and married Betty Claire Simcox and soon moved to New York where he attended Pratt Institute for Interior Design.
While in school, he and Betty would have two sons, William Troy Bivings IV and Nathan Lanier Bivings.
After leaving school for a job in design in the Atlanta area. He would team up with a lifelong friend and build a successful design business. Eventually moving that business to Daytona after the passing of his mother Clara Bell King Bivings.
After both sons had graduated from their respective colleges, Troy and Betty separated. Though they remained friends. He fulfilled his promise to care for her till his dying day.
After their separation, Troy would move to Key West and purchase a home listed for historic preservation. He would also meet and commit to another lifelong relationship with Mark Odom who later changed his last name to Bivings after 15 years together. They would remain together until his passing at home with Mark by his side.
Troy maintained a huge online presence keeping in contact with life long friends, family, and new acquaintances with equal effort. Many received daily jokes or updates as Troy moved his entire social life to online. He touched many people with his kindness and wisdom.
Troy is survived by his wife Betty Claire Simcox, his partner Mark Bivings, his sons - William Troy Bivings IV and Nathan Lanier Bivings, Grandchildren Callie, Emma, Justin, Ryan, and William, as well as 2 Great Grand Children and a third Great Grand Child on the way.
