Vera Patricia “Pat” Owen, 70, of Fleming Island passed away April 3, 2018 at Orange Park Medical Center. Pat was born on February 4, 1948 in Jacksonville, Fl to the late Charles E. M. Kelly Senior and Virgene M. Kelly.
Pat graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from The University of North Florida. Pat taught elementary school, 1st through 3rd grades, for 33 years in Clay County.
Pat loved bowling, shopping, baking, trivia, bunco, reading and spending time with family and friends. Pat volunteered in the community with many organizations including her church and the Elks Lodge.
Pat was a member of Saint Giles Church where she led the Woman's Bible Study Esther Circle. Pat was a dedicated and active member, a Tiler of the Elks Lodge 1892 in Green Cove Springs.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents.
Pat lives on in the hearts of her children, Christy Virzera and spouse, Jeffrey, Bill Owen; brother, Mac Kelly and spouse, Deborah; niece, Casey Kelly Nicholson; nephew, Charlie Kelly; and her beloved dog Kiki.
A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be 10:00 a.m., April 21, 2018 at the St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 116 Foxridge Rd, Orange Park, Florida 32065.
