Born on August 6, 1942, in Oneida, New York, Tom was baptized at St. Patrick Catholic Church and remained devoted to his faith throughout his life. He later worshiped at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Florida.
Tom attended St. Patrick Elementary School before continuing his education at Oneida Junior High and Oneida High School class of 1960. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served honorably from 1960 to 1964 as an aviation electrical and fire control specialist aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt with 2 tours of duty in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. After completing his military service, he embarked on a career installing electrical and audiovisual systems throughout the Eastern Seaboard.
A man of kindness and humility, Tom cherished staying connected with family and friends through the Internet and FaceTime. His warmth and dedication to those he loved were evident in every conversation he shared.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Maryann; his son, Darin; daughter-in-law, Jessica; and granddaughter, Hadley all of whom tirelessly cared for him over the past several years. He is also survived by his siblings: Diane Kiefer; Edward (Christine) Du Bois; Patricia (Harry) Oster; Joe (Ann) Du Bois; Jeannine (Bob) Bohrer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Arlene Du Bois.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Blvd in Jacksonville, time to be determined.
Tom's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.
