Teri Lynne Elman

Teri Lynne Elman, 80, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 16, 2023. She was born in Long Beach, CA on July 4, 1943. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was a firecracker baby. When she was small, she thought all the parades, marching bands, and fireworks were everyone celebrating her birthday. She was not so excited when she would later learn that she was wrong in her thinking.

She grew up near the ocean and learned to love the water. She was happiest in the bow of a speedboat, bouncing over the waves at a high speed with the wind blowing through her hair. Her smile during those moments was infectious.

She had worked for over 25 years in customer service when she met the love of her life, Rickie Elman. They would be married on June 5, 1994. In 1999, they began moving (four times within eight years), settling in Jacksonville, FL in 2007. She experienced tornadoes, hiding in closets during a storm, snow, blizzards, wild turkeys, and deer in her backyard. She loved it all despite how scary it was at times.

She loved being a mom to sons Robert Bush and Brian Bush. She was a special lady who spoke highly of both of her daughters-in-law, Deborah and Melissa, respectfully. She enjoyed helping to raise her grandchildren and ultimately helping with her great-grandchildren. She loved being a big sister to Nancy and aunt to her niece and nephew.

She was a faithful member of Southpoint Community Church. She began donating time helping different departments at the church with various duties. She helped the clerical staff as well as the children's department to get ready for different events. She loved being with her church family. On Sundays, she would love riding her jazzy around the rotunda saying "Hi" to all the friends she had known over the years. She loved the ladies from her Life Group. They were always so supportive.

A Celebration of Life will occur on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00am at Southpoint Community Church, 7556 Salisbury Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256
