He was born in Follansbee, WV to the late John and Mary Lauro. Rudy lived in the Mandarin area for the last 37 years. He was an internationally known wildlife artist with a rewarding career that spanned over 60 years. As an Artist-Illustrator, Graphic Designer, Art Director, Graphic Agency Owner and Wildlife Artist-Publisher, he designed and produced art for many of the top ad agencies and corporations in the country, including the United States Government, and won his share of nationally-acclaimed awards. Rudy received his formal education in art at the Pittsburgh Institute of Art after serving four years of active duty with the United States Air Force. He later studied art at AMI of Pittsburgh and graphic design at Carnegie Institute. His original paintings and limited editions of fine art prints are owned and displayed by collectors all over the country. He had a large following in the Southeast and West Coast. He is preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Betty Lauro who passed away November 21, 2001. He leaves to cherish his memory, his love, Nancy Tennant; two daughters, Jacqueline Parrillo and spouse, Michael of Jacksonville, FL and Lorry Rullo of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Michael Parrillo of Jacksonville, FL, Joseph Rullo of Egg Harbor, NJ and Patricia Sielowski of Bayville, NJ; great grandchild, Christopher Sielowski of Bayville, NJ. A celebration of Rudy's life will be held at 11:00AM on Friday February 24, 2017 at St Joseph's Historic Catholic Church, 4124 Loretta Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223 with Rev. Father Thanh Nguyen officiating.
