Obituary of Raymond Delmer James
In Loving Memory of Raymond Delmar James

June 2,1944 - September 17,2026

Raymond D. James lived a life defined by strength, sacrifice, love and devotion to his family.

He proudly served his country as a United States Marine and was a Vietnam Veteran. He carried the pride of being a Marine throughout his life, and the sacrifices he made for his country will never be forgotten.

To his family, Raymond was so much more than a Marine or a veteran. He was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Raymond grew up in Louisville, KY where he met and married his childhood sweetheart Carol. He joined the Marines and after numerous re-enlistments retired to Lawtey FL with his wife. Raymond passed peacefully in his sleep in the home he built by hand with his wife Carol. He was preceded in death by his mother Nettie Catherine, father William Delmar, brothers Lee Roy and William (Bill) and sisters Mae Dell and Regina.

He leaves behind his wife of 58 years Carol , his son Daniel , his step-son Donald , his brother Don , his sisters Catherine and Patricia , his grandchildren Bradley and Cassandra , as well as seven beautiful great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

His family was his greatest legacy, and the love he gave them will continue through every generation. The memories he created, the lessons he taught and the love he shared will remain with them always.

Raymond will be remembered with deep love, profound gratitude, and endless respect by all that had the privilege of knowing him.

You are deeply missed Raymond and you will never be forgotten.
