Nancy was born on June 5th, 1938 in Bluefield West Virginia to Jess and Georgia Bryd. Nancy traveled the world as the daughter of an Air Force Master Sergeant. As a young girl, she found her love of dance and the Little Theater while stationed in Japan with her family post world war II during the 1950’s.
Where to begin with her journey of touching everyone’s life. In the early 1970’s Nancy visited Florida and immediately fell in love with the climate and the beaches. Soon this led to Nancy’s pioneering move to Florida which was soon to be followed by her parents and all her siblings being one of her proudest accomplishments.
She always carried a love of dance and the Little Theater which blossomed again in the 1990’s when she became the Activities Director at Adventure Resorts of America. She brought this resort back to life with her dinner parties, bands and themed weekends. Everything from Mardi Gras night, Casino night, Cowboys and Indians to the mysterious Masquerade parties just to name a few. This is where Nancy met her soul mate and the love of her life Ski. Nancy and Ski could clear a dance floor with their ability to move flawlessly from the Waltz to the Tango. As activities director her greatest accomplishment was opening the world of cruising the Caribbean to all the members which Nancy considered her resort family. Ultimately leading Nancy and Ski dancing their way from port to port on the open sea.
She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren with her whole heart and soul. Our fondest memories were made during the holidays especially at Christmas. The doors of her home swung wide open like her heart for everyone. She had the ability to somehow have a gift under the tree for each loved one God sent to her home for the holidays. She had the best holiday decorations in the world from her lawn with the Nativity Scene, Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus with his reindeer flying over the house. Villages in every room telling a story to the multiple Christmas trees throughout her house. “The Best Christmas House in the World”. All her loved ones would come from near and far every year to celebrate. Our favorite saying is “ It’s not Christmas until you’re at home with Mom and have eaten her famous Green Pistachio Salad”.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband Harry Dugan Wietrzykowski (aka Ski); her children David Monoc (Nancy), Timothy Monoc (Michele), Teresa Spencer, Tina Davis (Glenn), Harry Wietrzykowski II (aka Dugan), Kevin Crider, Gail Lauden, Lynn Frost, John Lyons, Colleen Lyons, Kevin Lyons, Christine Lyons. “Nancy was Love”
She shared that love through her belief in God. She always searched for the good in people. She was a lady always putting others first. In the thirty-six years I knew her she never said anything disrespectful to or about anyone. She was the love of my life and had a way of making people feel comfortable around her and with her. She was the most sincere and caring person that I have ever known. Her spirit lifted those around her. She had a way of making you feel that your life was worthy. She was strong and soft at the same time, strong to support you and soft to comfort you. There is an empty spot in my life but my heart is full. Full of the love we shared and that can never be taken away. I know she is in heaven but I know she is also still here with me. We were there through the good times and the rough times together and I know we will still be there through the good times and the rough times ahead. We may be physically apart but I know her spirit is still here, it is in my heart. The life we have shared together is still being shared together not physically but spiritually. I am so proud and thankful that you chose me, to spend your life with me. I love you, I miss you and we will see and hold each other again.
All My Love Forever Ski
Carry with you “My Love of Faith, Family and the Promise that Jesus made a way for us to be together again! Amen
