Marcus was born in Mobile, Alabama, on September 25th, 1943. He graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology. He was a Navy veteran, a published author, received a master's degree in conflict resolution, and became a licensed mediator.
He is survived by his children, Marcus Polk of Manchester, New Hampshire, Kristy Brumley of Hampton, Georgia, and Patrick Polk of Lake City, Florida, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Geraldine Polk, his daughter Kimberly Prine, mother Eloise Ameen, father Charles Clark Polk, sister Barbara Flach, and brother Charles Polk.
