Linda S Berinato

Linda was born to John and Margret DiStefano on December 26, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. She met her soul mate Howard Berinato Jr. in 1986, then married him on April 13, 1991, in Poughkeepsie, New York, where they resided until both were able to retire to Hastings Florida. Linda worked for VA Castle Point, Wappingers Falls, New York, where she met most of her lifelong friends. Linda retired in 2010 after 27 years of service.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents John and Margret; her parents-in-law Howard and Evelyn Berinato; a brother John DiStefano, sister-in-law Sheila Smith, Brother-in-law Donald Rowe, and her best friend Angie Keschinger.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Howard Berinato; her children Clifford Scheiner (Dana) Hastings FL, Michael Scheiner (Rachel) Hyde Park NY, Linda Kilpatrick (Mike) Highland NY and Melissa Morrill (Damian) Jonesville SC; her brother Gary DiStefano (Carol) Staten Island, NY, her sisters, Karin Frick (Wayne) Sherman, CT, Debra Masson (John) Palm Coast, FL; her brother-in-law Robert Smith, and sister-in-law Sherry Rowe; her Grandchildren Amanda Samples (Mitchell), Michael Scheiner Jr., Christopher Scheiner, Ashley Soto (Isaias), Brian Scheiner, Samantha Scheiner, Alex Morrill, and Salem Kilpatrick; great granddaughter, Athena Webber and several nieces and nephews.

Linda loved to travel, tend to her garden, and spend as much time with her family as she could. Linda’s favorite holiday was Christmas, which she was blessed to have her whole family celebrate with her just this past Christmas.

The family would like to thank the staff of Flagler Hospital for the care and compassion they showed in her final days.
