Joseph N. St. Cyr of Keystone Heights, FL died peacefully surrounded by family on May 30, 2017. He was born in Gilman, VT on January 20, 1935. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served as a automotive repairman. He married Shirley Ingerson on June 8, 1963, and was the father of five children. Joe worked as a carpenter, maintenance man and machine operator. He lived in Manchester, NH in the years after leaving the service. He and Shirley moved to Meriden, CT, after they were married and purchased a home a few years later in Southington, CT. Joe and his family returned to NH in 1976 living in Whitefield for 28 years. After he retired he summered at Breezy Meadows Campground in Concord, VT and eventually relocated to Lunenburg, VT. Joe and Shirley moved to Keystone Heights, FL after, Shirley retired. Joe was active in his church and community wherever he lived. He enjoyed woodworking, creating children’s toys and painting ceramics. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and Grand Knight in three councils. He was a Whitefield Lions Club member. He worked at the Keystone Heights LAM Food Pantry and worked with several other men in the Clay County area building wheelchair ramps for seniors who could not afford to hire a carpenter. He was a talented stringed instrument player and enjoyed gathering with family and friends for fun-filled hootenannies. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Napoleon St. Cyr and Marie Anne (Lizotte) St. Cyr of Gilman, VT, his brothers Emile, Phillip, Raoul, Francis, Walter and Leo and his sisters Beatrice and Rachel. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley (Ingerson) St. Cyr; his son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Ellen St. Cyr; daughters, Linda Robinson, Pamela Abbott and Elaine Wheeler; his son Paul St. Cyr; eight grandchildren, Meredith and Andrew St. Cyr, Melissa and Emily Robinson, Rebecca and Alison Abbott and Robert Caroline Wheeler. Also, his brother, Leon St. Cyr; sisters, Sister Monique St. Cyr, Jean Soltis, Irene Goodson, and Simone Legace and many nieces and nephews. Services will be announced in Keystone Heights, FL, and Concord, NH. Joe will be interred at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
