Joni Davis Aldridge, 60, of Jacksonville passed away December 6, 2017 at her residence. Joni was born in Jacksonville on July 28, 1957 to Robert Davis and Lona Edens. Joni was a beloved and loving wife, mother, daughter and friend. A truly beautiful soul now at peace in God’s loving arms. Joni loved her family dearly. Joni was a lady of great strength, conviction and faith. Joni is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert Gene Aldridge; son, Preston Sean Aldridge; father, Robert Davis and his spouse, Patricia; mother, Lona Edens; siblings, James Davis, Timothy Davis, Victoria Wade, Julie Ragan and Christopher Rigby; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will all miss her. Joni had many great friends developed throughout her life, both in Jacksonville and Savannah, Georgia where she lived for many of her formative years and where she graduated from high school. Joni attained her Associate of Arts degree from Florida State College Jacksonville and attended the University of North Florida. Thereafter she devoted herself to being the best mother and wife that she could be. Although separated by distance and limited by health issues, Joni maintained many of her friendships throughout the years. She was always a strong shoulder to lean on, had a kind word for everyone whether she knew them well or not and gave her undivided attention to those she was with. She had the innate ability to make the people she was with feel special. She will be remembered and missed by all. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
