John P. Schmidt, 74, of Ormond Beach passed away November 28, 2017 at Halifax Health Medical Center. John was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 5, 1943 to the late John J. and Evelyn Schmidt. John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved riding and working on his motorcycle. He was a man who could do anything. He was the “Go-To” man of the neighborhood. John moved to Florida in 1977 and became an Ormond Beach Firefighter. He leaves to cherish his memory his spouse and love of his life, Helen; sister, Diane Bigos; children, John Schmidt, Jennifer Shaw, James Klosterman, Kimberly, Kristine, Renee, and Jennifer; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and friends that he loved dearly. A memorial service will be at a later date.
