John Austin O'Grady

John was a Bartender for more than 30 years and he was recently employed at Uptown Kitchen and Bar.

He is survived by his daughters Shelby Ryan of Maine; Mackenzie Thompson of Texas and Tori Salem of Jacksonville. His Sister Dana O’Grady Kildow (Coe) of Jacksonville, FL, Nieces Olivia and Claudia. Aunt Karen Dinkins (Pete) of South Carolina and his Great Aunt Sarah von Kleist of Jacksonville, FL. Many cousins and wonderful friends.

John enjoyed fishing, kayaking, camping and spending his time with his beloved dog ‘Petey’.

He is preceded in death by his mother Lynda von Kleist O’Grady, father John Joseph O’Grady, Jr. His grandparents, Austin & Evelyn von Kleist; grandmother Thedous W. Beale; grandfather John Joseph O’Grady, Sr.; a brother Sean Patrick O’Grady and his Uncle Russell von Kleist.

A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends Saturday January 19th at Uptown Kitchen and Bar from 4 to 7. With a private memorial service at a later date.

A Special thanks to the Doctors; Nurses and Staff at the Community Hospice Center for taking such good care of John.
