John “Jack” Kliment, 81, of South Daytona, Florida; passed away on December 10, 2024. Born on July 3, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio—though a note in his mother’s Bible suggests he might have been a year older—Jack was a man of stories and character, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy; their four daughters; two sons-in-law; four granddaughters; three grandsons-in-law; and three great-grandsons. He also leaves behind his three brothers and their spouses, along with numerous nieces and nephews. His 61-year marriage to Dorothy was marked by loving banter and deep affection. A devoted family man, Jack encouraged his daughters, granddaughters, and great-grandsons to pursue their dreams, often reminding them “not to worry” and assuring them they could achieve anything.
A passionate car enthusiast, Jack was renowned for his involvement in auto clubs, car racing, and his love for the 1955 Chevy Bel Air. He was always “busting chops,” and everyone who knew him has a fond memory of his vibrant personality.
Jack’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on January 10, 2025, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, in Pt Orange, FL, with reception following in the hall.
